Sarah Banner Had A Different Kind Of Social Studies Lesson In Mind -Teacher Charged With Sending Nude Photos To Student

Summerville, South Carolina (The Weekly Vice) - Sarah Renee Banner, a 25-year-old Summerville High Schoolsocial studies teacher was jailed after she allegedly sent naked photos of herself to a 16-year-old student.

According to Summerville police, the issue of an inappropriate relationship first came to light when the student approached his parents to ask if they'd like to see a photograph of a teacher who liked him.

Instead the boy's parents dismissed the notion, informing their son that teacher/student relationships were inappropriate.

When the student returned home from an outing past curfew, his parents took away his mobile phone as punishment. That's when they reportedly discovered a photograph of Banner's "private area" which arrived to the phone from a phone number bearing Banner's name.

Further investigation revealed that other inappropriate pictures had been sent by the teacher in the past.

When the boy's parents went to his room to confront him over the photos, they discovered he had left the house unannounced. The boy was eventually found - along with the teacher - inside a vehicle parked at Summerville High School.

When the boy's parents tried to talk to Banner - she reportedly fled the scene. The phone was eventually handed over to police who launched an investigation into the allegations.

Banner was arrested and booked into jail and charged with contributing to the delinquency of a minor. She was released after posting $5,000 bond.

Banner worked at the school for three years. School officials say she informed them earlier this year that she didn't intend to return to her teaching position in the fall.
