Fataah Ewe'--For normal dogs roughousing is ok. For pits the line is too thin--esp at a dog park wi random dogs. I have been at CA parks wi pits in attendance & seen that smart pit people don't allow any rowdy play. They keep a sharp eye. I appreciated that. And why? Because the smart ones know.

Hmmm, we hear a lot from pit people that there was no problem when their dogs attack, yet people do do what they have to do to get them off. And the pit owners always deny and fuss. But we know from numerous reports when their pits damage or kill other dogs the pit folks just run away. I need to hear a lot more about what happened in this incident. If the police released him, there was a good reason. What do you bet the "rough player" was a molosser? * note: Ooopsie, staffordshire terrier! How more pit than that?

The cops cuffed him, put him in the police car, questioned him. THRN RELEASED HIM!!!!!!!!This asshole walked.....

  Nicole Marie we had a similar incident here. pit wouldn't let go of his dog in a dog park. a few people were trying to remove the pit & it wouldn't budge so guy pulled out his gun & shot the pit. there was similar "outrage" & claims of the man overreacting & blah blah. but he had a legal conceal/carry permit & he said he felt his dogs life was in danger- guy saw a judge- judge dismissed it. I have a feeling this will be the same

  "I'm afraid to take my pups there. The park was ment for the dogs to run around and play without a leash. I esp worry about Gus!!!!! He sounds evil but a huge teddy bear. He charges people and jumps in their laps. Not to mention when he plays he sounds very mean."

  Lynne Smith Almost all pit bull rescues specifically say to not bring pit bulls to dog parks. Pit Bull Rescue Central used to have flyers to download and post at dog parks to educate pit bull owners about this. Of course things have changed over the years, and a softer stance to hide the truth is required to get more to adopt these dogs. But no educated, responsible pit bull owner would bring a pit bull to a dog park.
