Any ideas why these violent and aggresive Aussies are in so much oppostion to the health, safety, and welfare of Ameicans and our beloved pets?

Just curious and looking for some input and thoughts. I have found that some of the most violent and foul mouthed of the Pit nutters are from Australia. I see the same toxic ones posting violence, anger, threats and abuse everywhere on the internet (many with multiple accounts, same person, different names). They claim it is because that they have a ban there and don't want to see the same thing happen here. I say if these law breaking Aussie Pit Bull owners were serious, they would be taking care of business in their own backyards and would be working to repeal the Pit Bull ban in Australia. Any ideas why these violent and aggresive Aussies are in so much oppostion to the health, safety, and welfare of Ameicans and our beloved pets?

  • Dusty Brown I wonder what the laws are regarding internet stalking and harrassment in Australia. I doubt if they cross over to this country.

  • Carol Miller I share your thoughts. The New Zealand pitter Karen Batchelor is all over American mauling articles and regulation articles. Why doesn't she concentrate on her own country which bans importation of pit bulls.

  • Dusty Brown Yes, NZ is another I see a lot of. Maybe we need to address this angle in the future as well. I don't see why americans trying to pass legislation in America should be stalked, harrassed, bullied, etc. by people of other countires regarding regulations on Pit Bulls here for our own safety.

  • Tricia Malone Carol Miller yeah that crazy Karen is always going around saying no one has ever been killed by a pit in New Zealand. When I proved her wrong she disappeared lol!

  • Carol Miller A community in my state was dealing with pit bull advocates on the rampage against a breed ban. I made a comment and Karen came back with a statement that I should keep my opinion to myself because I don't live in the community. She does not live in the country or even the same hemisphere but other non Ohio pitters joined her in her complaint. * eye roll *

  • Jenny Pollman I think they're the worst because they are in another country... Like distance makes them more of a bad ass or something.

  • Justice Smith What we need more of is responsible and honest pitbull type dog owners who aren't afraid to admit what the dog was created for and that they take extra measures to house and contain said dogs. But like anything else we surely got our fanatics.

  • Sarah Collins We have tough liability here in Australia, yor dog attacks and you are up for everything and the restrictions have only gotten tougher overtime with each attack. Our biggest problem here is that the Queensland Gold coast city council pick up a stray dog they identified as a Pit and attempted to have it decared restricted. The owner (Kylie Chiver) fought it on the ground that it was an AmStaff. However ther high court ruled in favour of the council and found that an AmStaff is a APBT and an APBT is an AmStaff

Heavy lobbying by breeders to the Queensland goverenment saw them exemt AmStaffs in Queensland despite the ruling. Big problem is that people in other, states including NSW were I am, think that AmStaffs are now okay to own despite the fact the no such ammendment was made in NSW wich has a clause in its legislation stating that any dog fitting the 'breed type or description' of an APBT is likewise restricted.

The Pitters here are one serious attack away from having this loophole closed especially if the dog is identified as an Amstaff which it likely will be due to compulsory microchipping laws. I think this is why they may be so manic on the US sites. If they help get BSL repealed as much as possible in the US they can hold this up as an example to roll back BSL here in Australia before that attack happens.

I don't want that attack to happen, but it may be the only way to get rid of them for good here.

Here is the Queensland government ammendment...they clearly fell for it hook line and sinker. http://statements.qld.gov.au/Statement/Id/70902
Local Government Minister Desley Boyle has today...

  • Freda Ward Free speech is frowned upon there, truth is very hated and therefore heavily controlled.

  • Ara Moffett Good comment, Sarah. I had not considered the possibility that they hope BSL is overturned here in order to possibly help with their anti bsl cause there. Sounds logical to me. They are violent and vulgar. What I recommend is to block them and let them "play" amongst themselves. They LOVE to fight even more than American nutters and once you take that away from them they tend to wilt.

  • Sarah Collins I think they tend to be more militant, because they have very little in the way of gound support here. Even the average Australian will think they are mad and ignore them, usually with a WTF thrown in for good measure. They tend to be very isolated and consequently see everything as a pitched battle. As a culture we tend to be very laid back, if we don't agree with something we generally ignore it in the hope it will go away. The Australian pit advocates don't like being ignored so consequently they scream every chance they get, which often just makes it worse.

This cultural attitude tends to work well in most cases except when real action is required on real issues and you're in the minority, (which is why we still have that AH Abbot as our PM) This may be the reason why you think free speech is frowned upon here Freda Ward, when in fact it is not, it just takes a lot more effort and tact to ensure you are not dismissed as a loon. (Which is why we have such extreme Australian pit nutters, they have been dismissed as loons by most people and have no valid argument to counter that perception.)
