Mike Hammer I could hear the PB Crazies now ......My dog was barking, clearly there is a fire somewhere

Just another reason to never judge a book by its cover.

  • Mike Hammer If I recall we already reached a consensus about what happened with this incident. It was an issue of self preservation. Why is the dog being held in the center of the room and firmly held onto? The owner must know something we all know as well. The click baiters have now latched onto it. Anytime a story has nothing to do with the title....that's click bait. Only a fool would thing that an animal wanting to escape a fire is "Unbelievable"

To be unbelievable it would have had to open the door, and drug out each unconscious family member. That would be unbelievable. Especially a PB-- they'd have a better chance of being eaten by it (I think fire is on the list is it not?)

  • Mike Hammer The appropriate title would be something like "Dog barks to wake sleeping owners to get out of burning house". If it was phrased something like that most people say something like yeah that makes sense. Happens all the time.

  • James Hassinger Jeez if we called every dog that barked a hero for saving someone from something then every dog would be a hero

  • Mike Hammer I could hear the PB Crazies now ......My dog was barking, clearly there is a fire somewhere. Dispatch all FDs to go look for it. There's not a creature alive on this planet that when faced with fire won't turn and head the other way so long as it can move.

  • Mike Hammer Some people see a sweet little dog. I see a creation of man that will murder without warning.

  • Amber A Maclin Without the dog barking the family indeed would have died. So yea the dog did alert them in time to get out

  • Mike Hammer That's assumed...people don't understand cause and affect. Everyday in this country people survive and die in house fires, with and without dogs. Because the dogs ONLY means for escaping a fire is for his owner to let him out, it's only logical for any animal to wake its owners. Doesn't matter if its a bird going berserk or what....it's not hero, it's basic survival instinct. Kind of like you, EATING. Is every dog who eats a hero, Nope, would that stop a pro pit propagandist from trying to exploit, NOPE.

  • Bill Justice Cryspel Everyone needs a smoke detector. We have to have one because my father uses oxygen tanks and it is a smart thing to do, they make them and they are cheap, common sense  If they didn't have a smoke detector they must not be to bright. The type of animal here has done to much damage to make this look like thay are safe to have around. Like Mike Hammer said, they are out for their own hides. No hero.

  • Amber A Maclin As would I... I don't care if my two German Shepherds were barking or pawing at the door trying to save themselves if my house caught fire. MAKE SOME NOISE what good is a dog if it's not alerting the household to danger.

  • Julie Wall For me it does not matter how many nice pit bulls there are, I do not trust any of of them because too many of them have turned on their owners who treated them with care and love. I do not trust these dogs because most of them are produced by unethical backyard breeders who are breeding for power and aggression.

  • Anthony Michael Ridge If it's negative to obsess on the deaths of babies, grandparents, animals, by a particular breed, then I will be obsessed with eradicating the breed that is responsible for killings, maulings, of people and animals, than ALL the other breeds combined

  • Penny Spears Does it seem like WAY more family pits are attacking, as opposed to random dogs? Maybe loose dogs are becoming less of a problem, and "goofy wigglebutts" a bigger one?

  • Harry Peel Its the loved family pit bulls that kill, these fools are getting rescued fighting dogs from the shelter.
They are under pressure not to buy a puppy but to save a dog, but when they go to the shelter pits and pit mixes are the dog the shelters full of, after being reassured by the staff that pits are big couch potatoes, just big love bugs and are the nanny dog its off home with the child predator.
