Raechel Celeste Smith--I, myself, am guilty of discriminating against certain "types" of..living organisms..[lol] to ensure the best for my family. Better safe than sorry. Life is too precious NOT to take precautionary measures, even if such a measure requires forming a preconceived opinion

I WISH I could hold in my feelings.
Sometimes, it seems I'm in a self-made fishbowl on here; on Facebook.
    -Online, period.
I lose friends [surprisingly, those I admire the most] whenever I speak my mind and/or impulsively post a clump of selfies.
Since this morning, I have been Googling "life is too hard" over & over.
One thing I wanted to showcase is that, even though I'm a vocal anti-theist, my religious friends [particularly Christian] are usually the only to comfort me in my physical [non-internet] world. I just wanted to thank you and showcase that since I found it ironic given my strong Agnostic stance.
    • 15 people like this.
    • Brian David Oh u r such an angel
    • Sabra Steele You know if you "lost "friends" because of that then they were not really friends.
    • Sabra Steele You do not need "fake" friends or negative ppl in your life...
    • Teddy Kourkoulis Scassera Be true to yourself. Real people will stay by your side.
    • Leanne Simmons McConnell What people do or say about you is a reflection of who "they" are, not who "you" are. I find you very interesting and while I don't agree with everything you post, life would be boring only reading what I agree with. People who are secure in themselves shouldn't be bothered by anything you feel and think and post.
    • Madeline Parker White Yes, we do love you. No matter what.
    • Justin Russell I can relate, except it's the opposite. most of my support is online and mostly from my religious friends. I am like you and as tout atheist who will crack a joke with fellow atheists and occasionally post something on my own page. I try not to trash it too much on my page mostly due to family that is still on there. Won't bother saying the non-internet support as that is, for lack of a better word....crap.

Just know if you're having a rough one, you can always talk to me if you need. You are a wonderful person with a good heart and you deserve the support. People that can't handle the fact you speak honestly and openly are not worth having as friends. You and I are both VERY much the same on that and think we've only battled it out on one subject... but where are we? Still friends

Chin up Raechel Celeste Smith.. I know it's hard sometimes, but if it's down, you will miss all the beautiful things around you.
    • Tammy Tosi It's interesting.. But people are always interesting. They choose you as a friend online, not personally knowing you..probably because they like how you look (because you ARE beautiful) or because you have mutual friends..(so there's potential for simi...See More
    • Bill McNichols I find you fascinating, Raechel
    • Leigh Riley I have that too. People that try to appear "not too real" try to put me on the couch for being comfortable with who I am. It seems to me THEY are the ones who haven't arrived yet, and their lack of confidence is NOT my problem.
    • Chris Lee Raechel, I’ve been following you for a couple months now but haven’t gotten too involved in conversation. Whether it’s your style or your persona, an attractive women with an accent talking intelligently, following you does take some getting used to, compared to the all serious, straight to point, as blunt as possible narratives that some of us are used to. I can see how less understanding people might be turned off by this and it’s natural to make the assumption that you may have less followers if you were a male, so gender envy may also be a factor. Like most of us would, you seem to like and welcome the attention and there may be some narcissistic undertones because of this. I think it’s great that you are so open to your theist friends and your atheist followers. I just want to express that you’re on the right page and you’re spreading thoughtful messages in a new way. As a fellow anti-theist, I just wanted to share my feedback. Keep it up!
    • Susie Iwicki I TRULY wish we lived in the same area. We'd get along quite well.
    • Jeromy JroJsh Hutchinson if its a fishbowl my fishbowl is pretty fuckin bad ass considering all of you in here with me...
Sometimes, as much as I don't want to admit it, discriminating is a necessary survival mechanism. The negative connotation associated is usually due to emotion rather than logic.

It's all about prevention; not personal attack.
    Think: airport security.
-And I'm not at all saying to approach an alleged threat with violence, but I am saying that being extra careful need not be interpreted as "hating".

Kara's killer was nothing but loving & sweet leading up to this random attack.
Let that sink in for a minute.
Days prior, her Mother would have defended the pet; calling it "harmless".
Remind yourself that this keeps happening.
Is choosing that breed among hundreds of others worth the risk?
Highlights: Unprovoked. Dead. Loved pet. Gentle pet. Slept with her.

Happy 5th birthday to beautiful angel Kara in heaven. This sweet girl died last year on her 4th birthday. She was killed by the dogs that played with her daily....
